There are many internships available specifically for people with disabilities, including leadership, STEM, and business-related opportunities.

AAPD
Summer Internship Program

The AAPD (American Association of People with Disabilities) Summer Internship Program focuses on helping students and recent college graduates with disabilities develop their leadership skills through paid summer internships in Washington, D.C.. Students are connected with a mentor, are provided accessible housing, and even are offered transportation to and from the capitol! The interns have the opportunity to participate in networking and advocacy events, and have the opportunity to earn a Disability Advocacy Certificate as well.

AAAS

Entry Point!

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) helps students with disabilities find 10-week paid internships in STEM areas at universities and companies. These internships are offered at a variety of organizations, including Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and national research universities. Participants gain research and networking skills and are provided reasonable accommodations including assistive technology. The program includes mentoring and other support.

Goldman Sachs

Possibilities Summits

Goldman Sachs provides various virtual summits for undergraduates including students with "Diverse Abilities," which includes visible and invisible disabilities. Students spend 10-15 hours per week networking and developing technical and interviewing skills. All majors are welcome to apply and other summits are offered for students not necessarily disabled. For instance, the summits include a "Women's Possibilities Summit" as well as an "HBCU Possibilities Summit."
